Chili

Ingredients

3 lb. lean ground beef

3 oz. chili powder

16 oz. tomato sauce

2 small onions

1/2 tsp. oregano

1/4 tsp. cumin powder

1 bay leaf

4 (15 oz.) cans pinto beans

Directions

Dice onions and place in a 12 quart pot with corn oil to cover onions. Fry over medium gas flame until onions are clear (not brown). Put ground beef in pot and sear, continuously stirring, until all meat is gray (not brown). Drain oil from pot.

Add chili powder, tomato sauce, oregano, cumin powder, bay leaf and salt. Mix thoroughly. Add water; reduce flame and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add beans with juice; cook for 10 minutes over medium flame.
